In 3 years nobody amongst the 8 billion humans on earth ever tried planting anything in the dungeon? really?
Shit like this is why i can't take this manga seriously.

They tried, is the manga format that makes it pass as weird, need to read this and the chapter after to make it flow, the dungeon resets itself for any damage received and anything built/brought from humans in it is destroyed by slimes the moment no one watches.
A big building would be destroyed in parts no one is watching, and keeping a eye on it 24/7 is not possible, even a surveillance room wouldn't be good enough because slimes would likely spawn right out of the camera frame then close on the building altogether.
The rest spot in one previous chapter was just a camp with several people around and small gear in use.
This story have some fallacies, but for now I don't really see big plot hole, maybe some dumb actions from our MCs, but they were office workers, not special ops.

The novel touched on this matter a lot more but that's why I like the pacing of the manga better, at this in this farming arc lol.

Do read the LN, if you want the lengthy explanation of why 8+ Billion of humans couldn't plant or till a thing on their dungeons.

I do like the Infinite wood source, now, they should replant trees from earth's, never touch it, let their trees grow, while they cut the trees in the dungeon and let it respawn. They now have infinite building resources of wood and other stuff. The dungeons might be a hidden treasure itself.

In general we have two things (at least, potentially)

Source of wood that can be easily converted to planks

Source of metal in ingots, that can be used to make nails, hinges, etc. need a forge, but the main thing to fuel that is charcoal, and that's just something you can make from leftover bits of wood.

Of course, you have to make those things IN the dungeon, except.... if you have a safe floor, the slimes don't go there, and don't eat your house when you aren't looking.
