so much politics, info, and exciting intrigue. One if not the best manga in my opinion.

.. Sometimes the simplest things take me out of the story.
Is he really complaining about paying $15 for two skewer in the middle of a dungeon where the porters risk their lives to carry the meat? .... On top of that, we are talking about a billionaire with more money than he knows what to do with.

He only got that money a minute ago, being broke stays with you. Also fifteen bucks for only two skewers is concert prices and that's bullshit, period.

I feel bad for the "chef" though. Dude was probably the best cook in the unit and actually looking forward to chilling and grilling for his part of the undercover job, but old girl just trashes his food right to his face.

wait... wasn't radio communication to and from the dungeon impossible?

It's not really clear in the manga, but explained away in the light novel that radio communication between floors is impossible. Radio communication works fine if it's on the same floor. There was earlier communication depicted between Yoshimura and Miyoshi (during the barghast fight), too.

Nothing says they can't set up a relay system (whether people ferrying messages or laying some cable) across radio boundaries and get messages all the way up to the surface. It's just prohibitive for any organization that's not the government.

Yes there is. It was explained in earlier chapters that slimes tend to eat those cables so it's inferred that the same can happen 5 floors and beyond. The logistical nightmare to maintain it not just against dungeon mobs but also humans is going to exhaust the treasury the further it gets.

As for people relay, that already flew the coop because the two agents are not on the same floor but has incredible audio quality with their comms.

Radio boundaries are reliant on battery life as cables can't crawl without supervision in every floor. Regardless of the floor size, these radio relays have to be tall so that you only need a few to be constructed. Seeing as we're not told nor shown, the only assumption we can get is from the panels which is that these relays are small and portable.

Additionally we literally had a chapter wherein a group of spelunkers were attacked and those siblings were left for dead. If communication is possible, Yoyogi themselves would have an emergency line or even mention of a rescue team coming. There's none of that and I'm hoping for a great explanation from this story that's not just "gubbermint iz eebul!"

Love the politics, though it does get a bit hard to go through sometimes.

poor intel guy lmoa

also why didn't mc bother with getting advanced gear again? all the talks about newbie gear being too much attention on lower floors are kinda grating. anyway thanks for the chapter!

It's mentioned earlier in the series, but gear available is tied to their rank. He is still considered F rank, so he can't buy from the JDA shop.

It's one of the dumber rationalizations in the series, since he could just buy from 3rd parties if he wanted to not seem like a noob.

I don't think they have to go that far. They can just borrow from Yoyogi since it's them that requested those two to gather the orb and their liaison knows about how people mistake the guy as suicidal based on looks.

Im liking the story but it seems like none of these brilliant political movers and schemers have considered that if the main can dip into the dungeon and come out with a certain orb once, he can do it again.
