In the illustrations from the LN she has human feet, but in the Manga she has ostrich bird feet, but why is it different? does she unlock human feet at some point? wouldn't that be a massive detriment to her? or did the artist of the LN not want to give her bird feet?

They’re instinctually afraid of it—and since the “actual-threat-lightning” is the ONLY lightning they’ve ever known…—well, y’know. They’ll just assume that that lightning is the same.
Assuming it’ll go something like when they actually get hit and they realize they’re fine…that’s when shit goes down. Overcoming their fears and such, lol.
The “Oh shit, I’m okay. Well, time to beat their asses, I guess.” mindset, if you will. (Literal statement, not to be considered in the slang way 💀).

Not exactly the only one, in a small panel in chapter 7 Reisu already explained the difference to at least one of them, nevertheless they will definitely react afraid because of their experiences.
