I note that the protagonist suddenly gained adult male ostrich colouration (gaudy black and white instead of drab grey/brown) after regaining memories. That's a nice touch if it's intentional.

Depends on how he/she actually identifies him/her self as (for his/her part), potentially on whether the other party knows and respects that (for their part), and I guess finally on whether you're transphobic (for your part).

The first question is probably the most interesting, I think. Among cis men, there's definitely those who would think of themselves as "a guy in a girl's body" if they woke up genderswapped tomorrow, and definitely some others who would think of themselves as "a girl now".

Ironically, come to think of it, it's the person who fiercely keeps their originally-assigned gender identity that ends up with gender dysphoria in this case. 🤔 This MC doesn't seem to care so much, but they might still think of 'themselves' as a man, hard to say so far. There seems to be slightly more evidence for 'thinks of self as girl' so far, but it's very rough. "Thinks of themselves as a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B" is possible, and then they're non-binary, and honestly by that point even the queer community gives a collective shrug to the "is it gay or not" question because that's like trying to do some variety of 2D math in 3D where it finds itself kind of underspecified. Like asking for the circumference of an oblate spheroid, or something silly like that.
