The littles are definitely gonna need plenty of space and food. Farmland, a barn or two to sleep in, cheap easy and fast to grow crops, and undoubtedly monsters to hunt. Though I’d say non-magic using monsters are the safest kind of breakfast for the littles since they are melee focused. Magic and elemental attacks are the most dangerous thing for our birdbrains.

problem with this manga is that there is months between chapters
That's actually partially my fault as well. They are releasing 1/2 chapters every 2 weeks and due to IRL conflicts I fell a bit behind. I am hoping to get chapter 5 out to everyone a lot faster. I do plan to wait for both halves to be out before posting though, that way we don't have to deal with randomly ended chapters and the annoying 4.1 / 4.2 BS. :)

To people who are wondering and need a refresher:

Our ostrich MC WAS a normal ostrich monster until she she hit her head and remembered she's a reincanator. The massive influx of knowledge literally blew her brain but because of healing factor, her brain just kept on healing, blowing up, healing, blowing up...until her pea brain can finally handle all those knowledge. She basically evolved because of her brain.

Her fellow ostrich monsters don't grow beyond the usual small bodies so there are are adults among them, its just that because they literally have small brains, they are stuck in this childlike personality.

It makes you wonder if some of her flock get to evolve in the future too just by learning things normally.

They prb spawn like monsters, seeing how MC kept running into groups of them and they naturally gather up when meeting.
How does new groups get created if not spawning, just from running away in different directions? They don't have any racial trait like driving out adult males or anything.
How big is that place anyway.
There is mention of a breeding season in chapter 2, page 13. Not that it says anything specific.

How long until one of them eats a citizen :worry:

In any case, at this rate, I think no one will dare to mess with them. Especially if Reisu wipes the floor with the city's guardian knight in the next chapter...

Thanks for the upload!

Very amusing twist on things, but I gotta wonder where the other adult ostriches are. Or are the little ones just unaging unless they develop some brain power and MC got cheat coded into it?
Pretty sure it was told in the first chapter how the MC is an anomaly from growing a brain. All the other ostriches are regular ostrich, and I believe will never grow bigger.

The method to make more adult-sized specimen is both convoluted and nearly impossible.

You'd have to either teach them at a pace so glacial lifespans are a concern, or use some manner of telepathy to upload an entire high school education into them, brain blasting them consecutively like the MC experienced.
It probably doesn't need to be a brain blast, just a constant barrage of barely survivable damage would probably do it, but nothing they might run into in the monster zone they grew up in would be capable of less than lethal damage. Maybe if any of the lolis survived the Thunder dragon raid, they could come out as evolved ostriches, then we'd find out if the bigger brain is always included.

Their collective only 2 braincells fighting for third place...
Third place podium is strategically placed near the bathrooms and buffet tables, so that the "losers" can either eat their feelings, or take an out of view crashout.

You're talking about growing the brain with plain physical damage, and that sounds risky. First of all, making these ostrich girls bigger WITHOUT basic intelligence is asking for trouble.

Second, I'm not so sure that direct damage will grow the brain in a way that makes it smarter. It might just become a harder skull.

I'm talking about growing them into larger Ostrich forms, like Reisu, but wondering if they would get a larger brain just because they get larger bodies.

Considering it took six months of continuous brain popping and regeneration, it probably can't happen as a result of a single fight. Without a constant source of damage like that, it would likely take years of fights with less than lethal damage.

They sure are a handful. XD

I'm very curious about how that will go now that they have access to non Ostrish beastkin. After all, we can see that they have shown interest in non-Ostrish and since it seems that breeding between humanoids is possible in certain cases, we may see a generation of half-Ostrish beastkin that have bigger brains and are actually capable of functioning somewhat in human society.

I mean, we've seen that orcs are considered to be non-linguistic humanoid monsters, but Ostrish beastkin are only a tiny step up from that. They're also ravenous, have a short fuse and no understanding of law, which means that theft and murder are just not concepts they have and if they meet anyone who threatens them in any way, they are likely to kill them.

So yeah, they're cute and all, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were categorised as pests.

MC developing intelligence is something that is unlikely to ever be replicated in another Ostrish beastkin and I know that's a good way off (and basically not in scope of this manga), but once MC is gone I really wonder how these Ostrish beastkin will ever survive in human society. So if they can breed half-Ostrich beastkin with a brain, that would really help the MC in managing that flock.

Well, for now, we'll just have to see how they avoid letting these cute murderchickens get in trouble.
