So showing that you're both amiable but also deadly serious is the way a ruler should act.

If they were trying to trick her,her human self might be able to pick up on it,and even if they give a false answer is scared,she might sense that and back off.

But if the answer would result in the end of the flock,be it good intentions or trickery,then they're the after meal snack,possibly with the clingy one taking an elf skull trophy with her.

Honestly, I can't really see the ostrish beastkin doing well in society. What jobs would they do? Forget being slaves as they're not smart enough to be of any use and they also lack hands. They could be pets, but considering that they're wild and can be ruthless, that's pretty dangerous. They'd never be used as livestock because they like their meat and are hunters.

If human like species can interbreed, I guess that the next generation of half-ostrish beastkin could be smarter. If not, the moment the leader is gone, what happens to them? I mean, I'm still amazed they've apparently been surviving without their evolved leader's guidance.

This reminds me of another monster girl series, specifically in the sense that Reisu isn't just a cute girl with feathers for pants, but an actual fearsome monster and a predator with properly monstrous diet, instincts, morals and common sense. And for the sake of her flock's safety she's already contemplating whether to murder the outsiders while they're still harmless.

This reminds me of another monster girl series, specifically in the sense that Reisu isn't just a cute girl with feathers for pants, but an actual fearsome monster and a predator with properly monstrous diet, instincts, morals and common sense. It rarely is addressed, especially in-series, how the species and physiology changes should also affect the character(s) mentally. So many monster reincs just have the character act essentially human and eventually humanize their kin.

Evrn if human does end up humaning, it's refreshing that the mc is her kin first everything else second and doesn't let her past memories turn her into a naïve idiot that most monster reincs are.
