Always pudding, every isekai it's pudding.
Did they hold a convention just to decide that every isekai that focusses even a little bit on food needs pudding?

So, creating a few kilograms of sugar for personal use would suddenly cause problems for the farmers in the kingdom? What nonsense. If sugar is expensive, it means there aren't lots of people manufacturing it. In the end if the technology and resources (plants) to make sugar do exist, it's, in fact, not particularly expensive since it's easy to make in large quantities. If the plants and technology don't exist, you don't, in fact, even have sugar available. You'd have honey and other such stuff, which indeed are expensive and come in relatively small quantities.

@okami Lots of people like pudding. Ellen must have been a fan of it back in her original world. Of course she would miss it. Just like chocolate and a whole lot of other sweet things.

@Kaarme

It probably has something to do with temptations. They were afraid that if Ellen starts making it, she would continue to make it. So it's best to set a restriction before she start doing it and get used to doing it.

Ai-chan knows that if Ai-chan can produce traps willy-nilly, Ai-chan would probably have made a million traps just to screw with heterosexuals.

You can expand it to everythig japanese.
Pudding obsession in manga/anime goes beyond just isekais.
At leasts its not worse than the stupid indirect kiss cliche they are so obsessed with also in romcoms.

pudding is also one of the easier sweets to recreate - you just need eggs, starch and milk. Plus sweetening. (aroma like vanilla is optional). Cake would be rather easy, too, but pudding is easiest, because you don't need to bake it consistently and aren't in need of leavening like baking soda, natron or yeast.
Most of these isekai worlds don't have cacao beans for chocolate, so I haven't seen chocolate so far, unless MC has virtual access to a japanese supermarket obviously.

So, sugar is not mainly composed of sucrose. Sucrose is just one form of sugar ( often refereed to as table sugar). Sugar refers to a specific structure and their exists several variations.
Glucose (basic sugar)
Maltose (malt sugar)
Dextrose (corn sugar)
Fructose (fruit sugar)
Galactose (milk sugar)
Sucrose ( a combo of Fructose and Glucose made from beat or cane sugar)
Lactose (Sugar molecule made from Galactose and Glucose)

Fun fact: Fiber just means the stuff our digestive system can't process.
Fun fact 2: By modifying sugar molecules they can prevent our body from breaking them down and effectively turning them into fiber. But they can still interact with our sweetness preceptors on our tong. This is the basis for all artificial sweeteners.

That’s an odd transition. I’m relatively confused now. So we got both an intermediary chapter and a time skip? Feels like this should have been from the POV of the main character and then we got the time skip setup for the next chapter. Then the POV from the maid should have been a .5 or something.

I don't know if pudding is that used... it's more normal when they start to talk about spices and... soy sauce

Why would it have been a problem for her to make sugar? They know she's a spirit...

As long as we don't go back to the shitty prince I'm OK with anything.
