Yeah I can think of nothing I'd love more than a sick-ass snake that showed up to my class and talked to me. That was basically my dream, man; the only thing that could've possibly been cooler would be having a talking shark buddy.

It's why Ruri Dragon was so goddamn good, but... well, that's another sad feeling for another sad time.
;_;

How i wish for it to continue a bit further or we got the continuation of that series.
I love that for the most part things are not played for unnecessary drama, it have reasonable adult and shows more grounded teens relationships.

That lady had sex with a giant talking snek.
Can someone recommend any other manga titles that have similiar premise? Not just giant talking snek, but other sentient/sapient mythical monsters with human woman. Hentai or otherwise. Give me what you knows that fit the criteria.

I’m sorry what type of little boy wouldn’t be absolutely stoked on a talking venomous snake?! It should be the older generation priest with reservations not the children (at least they don’t look old enough to even recognize the dangers of such animals).

Also yeah thanks for the TL, but this is even more of a cliffhanger. Still crazy disappointed we didn’t get to see more of the kids early stages and them being raised by two parents who didn’t know what the F was going on with their bestiality demon twins.

Well it is Japan. The culture where standing out and being different from others invites ostracization and bullying.
Typically not from little kids though. That’s often the last time you’ll see people genuinely open to expressing their emotions. Elementary school in modern japan is really energetic and emotionally active in comparison to middle and high school where the exam focus and competitive status kicks in along with the need to succeed. At the elementary age though, kids are definitely going to speak their emotions out loud without regard for empathy (because they’re still learning it), but that’s it. It is very common for parents and adults in the classroom to start laying down the homogeneous cultural foundations, but its not really exhibiting in the kids themselves until later.

That said, IDK about historical settings of Japan. Still gonna call BS on a boy who hasn’t gone through puberty not being stoked on a talking venomous little snake.

I know its a story and they need drama but as someone with 3 nephews age 6 to 9. It is absolutley unrealistic to me that these boys would not be PSYCHED to have a talking snake for a friend 😆

Ruri dragon is still humanoid and these kids aren't even afraid of Ina. Some people around me are still afraid of harmless ball python, and we are talking about venomous viper with the size of python here. Talking or not, you would always puting on guard instinctively if you see these wet fang.

I knew it was gonna happen like this (and wasn't expecting otherwise), but I'm still sad all the same. :qq:

Urgh, that was pretty good. I don't doubt that Ina also goes through problems, because unlike Tokitaro she is less "human" on the inside than on the outside and she caught the attention of that attwhore little girl. And back to the abyss. That tidbit hurt my thirst, seriously~:haa:
Still, thanks for sharing that translation~

Poor snake lad... I hope he finds a buddy.

In fairness, we're from a modern era where anti-venom exists. We've also been exposed to a metric ton of stories, illustrations, and the like of monsters being cool and/or romantic. If not, then there are stories where we sympathize with monsters like Beauty and the Beast. You and I would likely be stoked as all hell to meet a creature like that.

For the children in the story, it's another matter entirely. There aren't that many stories where snakes are seen as the good guys in Japanese traditional folklore. What they do know for certain is that if they're bit by a snake, they'll surely die. And this caution isn't entirely unwarranted. Daddy snake a few chapters ago straight up ate a man (in self-defense admitedly.) Who knows if snake lad loses his temper and bites someone by accident?

Imagine if you were a kid and out of nowhere, a horrible amalgamation of Pennywise and Slenderman became your classmate. At any point, this abomination can explode into a cloud of neurotoxin that will kill you slowly and painfully. There is no cure. You don't know how volatile they are emotionally. You just know that there has been times in the past where his family killed and ate people. And now, this thing is awkwardly talking to you out of the blue. One bad interaction can potentially land you six feet under. Wouldn't you be the slightest bit afraid?

Hell, you don't even need to imagine such a monster. Some of us are already afraid and hateful of other people just because of tiny differences like the color of the skin even in more accepting countries. How much more in a secluded, homogeneous country in the past?

You have no idea how many pages of Nhentai search pages I go through with "snakes" as a tag. Almost all of them featuring vore or gore. Which was not my taste. This Daija series hits that sweet spot. The only thing that sours it is the artstyle and the design of the snake.
i love the artstyle personally, always been a fan of the more 'sketch' looking mangas. but i agree with you that this hits the spot

I am thankful for the introductory pages that note the passage of 7 years time and acknowledges the abnormal growth rate of the kids initially otherwise the actual duration of the timeskip would have been unclear. The children and other humans are frankly right to be afraid of sentient venomous snakes which could have endangered animosity and retaliation. That Tokitaro is only getting the silent treatment (for now) I consider a lesser blessing given the tone of the manga thus far. I actually agreed with Daija's reticence at even allowing them both to go to the temple. At the very least it might have been better for them to have been taught in private or at home.

I wonder if the post-timeskip brother of Miyo could maybe offer some friendship for Tokitaro's loneliness as the Uncle.
