Yeah with how things are going, Tokitaro is much more conscientious of his surroundings and what it means to be a talking Snake in a human society; because he will essentially never receive the same treatment that Ina does because of his appearance.
Ina takes things for granted, she has no real need to worry about persecution on the same scale as Tokitaro and because she is much more like Daija in nature, she isn't starved for other's people recognition and is more of a willful freethinker who doesn't measure the affect of what her actions might bring on people.
It feels inevitably that something will happen to the both of them. Either Tokitaro is going to get some recognition for his painting, but then start actually getting bullied for being a Snake from jealous onlookers who think its creepy. Or Ina will eventually take things too far, and harm or maim someone and be deemed a threat to humans.
