Wait, so the hero is being taken over by the "demon prince" ego, or he dumped the hero ego, or he's just acting all the time? How the devil addressed jilbagias is pretty much concerned.
According to webnovel:

He sealed the "hero (Alex) ego", so it's literally just "Jilbagias the demon prince" now

So one of your assumptions is almost right

Cuz in order to save Liliana, he gonna have to make them believe that she has lost her mind. He have to make them believe that "the saint Liliana" is gone & all that left is the shell of her former self. They knows how persistent Liliana is, so if they let her go, there's a risk of her going berserk or something. To make their plan fool-proof, the MC decided to use the taboo magic to seal her identity as "Liliana the saint", but in return the MC is also affected by it

That seems kinda dumb unless the prince also shares his ideals

In the novel, when the kid points out the "naked lady", they don't understand why their mom calls Liliana a "disgusting creature" showing us the Night Elves are not born evil, but taught to hate as they grow up. Just one of those little tidbits that adds so much to the story.

I believe that's pretty important, its one of the many small details they add that shows the the people of the demon society are not inherently evil, they have just been raised in a way that makes them that way. I expect in the process of destroying the demon kingdom he fixes it, so they can live peacefully with the humans.
