Most stories don't put meaningful emphasis on the hardships of the road anyway when convenient basic-level magic exists. Otherwise expeditions would have to be accompanied by a number of helpers handling menial specialized tasks.

You need to understand, most of these stories that try to force the MC as an underdog either make people look down on him way too much for no reason, or make the MC have a power that in almost every f***ing civilization ever would respect yet for some weird reason, the MC is looked down upon....

Because the author doesn't know how to write a power that can actually be misunderstood...

Think about it, she's interacting with all these adventuring parties and likely has heard all sorts of tales about impressive adventurers, but it's not like the supports get any stories about them.
