Japan: We're doing a high school athletics day, so we expect every single student to be fully up to speed with the official competition rules of every single sport that you're all gonna be doing this one time and then never again. You definitely can't just pick up the baton and keep running after practicing so hard for this stupid sports day. You're disqualified. This is a no-fun zone after all.
Bruh, the more I think about this, the angrier I get. It's like, this is a student that has no interest in athletics and physical exercise, and by some miracle she managed to get her motivation up, actually put in some effort and tried her best, and then they disqualify her on a stupid technicality. I mean, I understand that you have to stick to the rules if you're a professional athlete or someone aspiring to become one taking part in a serious competition, in order to keep it fair, but Hibiki isn't even part of a club, they're doing this kind of day in order to activate and get students interested in sports and physical activities, and being anal about competition rules to the point where you waste all of her effort feels like a good way to ensure she never ever tries something like this again.
