The End of Globalist was a very big Deus Ex Machina tbhIt's part of the reason this is my favorite Shonen from what I have read. I have yet to feel like "oh this was a major asspull" while reading this series.

I disagree! I would say it's closer to Chekhov's gun since she is introduced many chapters beforehand and was shown to be incredibly powerful. Dandadan usually uses the mini arcs to play into the next arc like with aira with nessie/peenie weenie, Taro with evil eye and Ludris with Vamola. Could argue Rins gravity power in the last arc was but I personality let it slide cause it's really there to set up Saint Germaine for later. The End of Globalist was a very big Deus Ex Machina tbh
I get that but the bull clearly isn't the main antagonist and is really used to introduce them as well show them off for the next arc. You could say the same when Aki uses the fox devil when killing the leech devil. That's a weird takeaway from a chapter where their newly introduced powers so very conveniently happened to counteract the bull.
We should probably be a little concerned about where that Guardian Spirit comes from:

I don't really see the similarity. That fox could swallow any devil, this chapter on the other hand had a guy who gets hotter and brighter go up against a guy who chills things and one who gets stronger from bright things...I get that but the bull clearly isn't the main antagonist and is really used to introduce them as well show them off for the next arc. I've read (and googled some more) and still have absolutely no understanding regarding this or the Lovecraft's universe.
Please enlighten me 🙏
It comes out of nowhere. Like Aki just has a devil that can kill this one that is currently beating denjis ass? I say sure. That villians purpose in the story much like this one is to establish something for later. With the fox devil it is there to establish later on the stakes for the Katana man arc (imma try not to go into too many spoilers with chainsaw man here). This whole conflict is here to introduce them and the powers they have. I wouldn't call a storytelling method that is used in plenty of other stories an asspull. I would agree tho if they were hyping up the bull for 10+ chapters and they come out of nowhere to beat him.I don't really see the similarity. Pretty much everything in the Cthulhu Mythos is Bad News for humans. Alien beings who, at best, finds us beneath their notice. The ones that might take an interest are even worse.
Basically they're not exactly what you'd call "benevolent" and not something you'd want to casually call upon. Having one as a guardian spirit raises questions that I'm wondering if the author will answer.
