did this manga just tricked me to learn biochemistry???
If telling you awfully misinterpreted information counts as teaching then yes :kek:

This so much. I know writers/artists take creative liberties with some stuff for the sake of story telling but when it actually falls into a category I personally know about it makes it significantly harder to ignore and suspend my disbelief.

Amino acids and proteins don't "rotate" in any direction, they have Left or Right based Chirality which are arbitrarily named (ie. we just name them Left or Right by convention not because of any intrinsic property of the molecules orientation) for the sake of convenience and consistency. The only "rotation" you could argue the molecules have is that they shift or "rotate" the plane of polarized light that you pass through them, which is actually one way to test for purity when synthesizing some of these organic compounds. Google Stereochemistry if you want a more in depth explanation but the point is that molecules don't have "rotation" in any specific direction in the same way electrons don't actually "spin".

Also, if Seiko is the one who taught Jiji about the rotating rasengan kamehameha shouha wave, why the fuck didn't she do it herself against him and instead just got demolished? I also find it a bit dissatisfying that Jiji himself specifically says that he struggles with producing a wave in general let alone a specifically rotating one and then it just glosses over that aspect to suddenly now he has perfect control and can rotate it exactly the way it needs to. Like it would have made more sense to have Seiko point out that his default shouha wave rotates that certain way which makes it suitable for ethereal type enemies but unsuitable for non-ethereal and this would be his big damn hero moment where his weird rotation quirk turns out to be just the thing to save the day. Instead it's just ham-fisted in that he's a turbo genius who can fire them off like it isn't a big deal and can also control their spin.

Maybe it's just me but Jiji's character development has felt so lazy and rushed like the author doesn't know what to do with him compared to the others so he just gets off screen training/power ups that we only find out about as he suddenly reveals his new plot demanded abilities. We never get to see him develop, he just shows up already developed and then we get a 1-2 page flashback about some vague advice or instruction that Seiko gave him.

Your criticism is valid, but to play devil's advocate, I'd like to point out two things that make it at least somewhat consistent. Seiko has always called Jiji a genius, and it's played as a running gag because she only ever says it when he compliments her youth/beauty, but I think the twist is that it's genuine and he really is a prodigy. Seiko has never used energy attacks for example - she may be a veteran exorcist but the limitations of her body prevent her from doing what Jiji can do, and he seems to have a natural born talent for it.

The second point is that this instruction flashback was likely from all the way back before the Kur arc even started, when Jiji was still struggling to keep the evil eye intact and the most he could produce with an energy wave was a slight breeze. I think the implication is that he has been training on the side ever since then - he wasn't present for the entirety of the Jumanji arc for example. So the jump from struggling to perfect control isn't as abrupt as presented in this chapter, you have entirety of multiple arcs in between including at least one life or death battle.

I was about to point out that Seiko probably doesn't have any sort of energy. From what it seems, she mostly uses talismans, knick-knacks and knowledge in conjunction with martial arts, like some sort of exorcist Batman.
But she does know how they work because she's a veteran.
Also, from all the pseudoscientific bullshit and all of the broken laws of thermodynamics, are we really going to argue about how molecules in this universe spin?

see, now i'm actually learning! so yes, this manga does trick me to learn biochemistry stereochemistry!
