It does feel like a misdirect, Saint Germaine already tried to steal Okarun's power and it didn't work even though Okarun admitted defeat, so Pinocchio might be someone else, I still think that it's Jiji.

It's possible, but I don't think so. There could be a million reasons why SG couldn't steal his powers back then. Maybe the confession of defeat has to be honest and not flippant like it was (although that hardly explains SG's reaction). But more importantly, I don't think Jiji is Pinocchio because Jiji got his powers when Evil Eye decided to posses him, and SG made it clear they put the fairy tale powers into the protagonists (which is a massively worn out trope but oh well).

I'm not sure if the Momo amnesia thing has killed Dandadan for me, necessarily, but it sure has made me care a whole lot less. Imagine how good this would have been if they got to properly confess after that whole ordeal, and got into a relationship that would then be tested at the same time as this new threat was growing. That could've been so great, but instead we get... this.
