Bruh, if this series doesn't end with bloodshed or Masato dying, I'm yelling this is so fiction lmao

Yeah, I dunno - Masato's very much acting exactly in the way that I could see him getting dumped by girlfriends in his past world.
The way he's acting with every heroine, in that close-distance / slightly-flirty way in terms of being complimentary and "kinder than simple politeness would dictate" manner is going to get him in trouble. He even said that he was called out for it when that one girl broke up with him in that flashback, but here he is, simply repeating history in an arguably worse setting, because of some weird misplaced sense of propriety that he decided on all on his own.

And it's a double whammy, because while he should be aware of the nuance of the world he's living in by now, at least at a surface-level degree (he works in a freaking host bar for crying out loud - he's got a front-row seat to the inverted nature of this world compared to his previous), but the way he's acting would have been bad enough in "our" reality, in terms of giving people the wrong idea.

Here, though...it's amplified all the more with how desperate the average woman is.

I feel bad for the five heroines, mostly. Their problems are all the worse precisely because of how dense and oblivious the MC is being, and while it's great for melodrama, it's not great for their general well-being.
Just because a boy is kind to you doesn't mean he is in to you.

fifteen chapters in and it's still making its readers eager to see the inevitable battle royale of female leads.

Not sure where I said that - my comment was about how Masato was shown to be the same way to everyone, and that it has caused numerous misunderstandings to the point that relationships fell apart because of his behavior.

The fact that he continues here, in a different world that plays by very different interpersonal rules, and is clearly courting potential disaster because of that behavior, just further proves the point.

The context is similar to the whole "it's not a woman's fault when she's polite to a man, and the man misunderstands and pursues her against her wishes" - but here we don't see him in an archetypal vacuum; we have precedent that this isn't simply something happening to him, but that he actually is willfully acting in such a way that those around him are getting mixed signals. And it's not just one person, it's everyone - and he's been clued into this fact previously, and yet he persists.
At that point, he's an active, if weirdly unwitting, participant.

And if everyone around you is misunderstanding you, then at a certain point it's not from them that the problem originates.
