IIRC the government is apparently looking into legalizing polygamy. Dunno if that's just some footnote worldbuilding or actually going to become relevant.

If anything I could see it having an aggravating effect. Polygamy becomes legal, guys become even more insufferable and entitled, MC becomes increasingly attractive due to practicing basic human decency and kindness towards the opposite sex, ends up drawing the attention of even more women. Thus making the girls already in love with him even more anxious/aggressive/unstable.

It kinda seems the ratio wasn't always this skewed. It seems men started becoming rarer and it is a continuing trend, hence why polygamy is only recently being brought up, whereas if it was always 1:5, you would think it had been there from the get go. Like Nobunaga is mentioned and was mentioned as male, as were several other figures.

Her whole thing is that she's forcing herself to be interesting in romance and dating, but instead of her learning that it's okay for her to not be interested in that stuff, she just finds someone who's "the one?"
