Literally if either one was honest this wouldn't be a problem. Emmoto as a character adds nothing but drama so her use is over now since she has a first love thing but no actual knowledge of our MC

I didn't hate her, but I do now. What the hell was that? Entitled brat. Author's really trying their hardest to make her as insufferable as possible rather than having her go about figuring out her emotions in a mature manner. Way to shit on her character development.
On top of that, Rion is, as someone said earlier, bland and cookie-cutter for a rival, basically just a plot device because the main girl always wins anyway, so she's thrown around left and right without care by the author, and yet despite that it's still hard to care due to her being barely noteworthy, leaving a bad taste for both her character and for the way she's written.
Her childhood friend is also very standard aside from the part where he sticks his nose into her business way too much and goes full passive aggressive in his taunting, which doesn't exactly make him likeable either.
With MC being dense as a brick and falling short of being capable of understanding any of the other characters, this is a fully dysfunctional cast and this chapter really capitalised on that fact, as if the author is setting everyone up for redemption simultaneously, at the cost of infuriating the readers in the process. Some elegant storytelling there.
It's an L from me at this point.
