Volume 11 is out next month, and they seem pretty well-rated, so regardless of quality, it seems like it delivers on what customers are expecting. And we're near the end of LN1 now? That's an intimidating amount of content.Side note, the LN looks to have 10 volumes and has been a thing since 2021. Wonder how far the manga adaption will follow.
Sounds like (from other comments) things do make gradual progress, and right now I still trust the author to slowly and realistically have these fragile little jerks mature into great people who deserve each other in a good way, rather than the current bad way. I'll be out if this was revealed to be a status quo ad infinitum kind of affair after this arc.Tbh, at this point all I wanted was for them both to come clean about this whole thing. Didn't have to include their confession, they can keep that on the backburner. Whole scenario wasn't sittin right with me, if things just return to the status quo as though it never happened in the first place? Man...
Yep, she's terrible, and I could see that being her brand of cope, but I think the author explicitly does not endorse her behavior: This is to hopefully set up the consequences that lead to her epiphany and development. The fact that she's manipulative and loved by all in middle school might literally be the first thing we're told about her via narration in the middle of chapter one. It's not a skill she cultivated later in life, it is her way of life and other than maybe with her brother, it's the only way she knows how to be. She knows others' feelings enough to manipulate them easily, but she doesn't understand how important those feelings are to them.So what im taking away from this is that I should just lie through my teeth, gaslight and makes scenes in front of my partner to make them feel miserable to get what I want without ever having to put myself in a position of emotional vulnerability.
This will carry no consequences if they love me enough, since otherwise it was obviously just not meant to be.
Couldn't have said better. Either way, even if MC is manipulating her, it doesn't suddenly make any of these characters any less insufferable. So what im taking away from this is that I should just lie through my teeth, gaslight and makes scenes in front of my partner to make them feel miserable to get what I want without ever having to put myself in a position of emotional vulnerability.

There is still the possiblity this is all unreliable narration and MC is just manipulating her back to get the truth out of her, which if he is - fair game to the author. However if it's not and they're really going down this path - this author has serious issues & has a horribly warped sense of reality. Or they're just a horrible writer.
There's your popcorn, TL as thanks for the translation.
Oh don’t worry bud there’s gonna be consequences, a volume’s worth. So what im taking away from this is that I should just lie through my teeth, gaslight and makes scenes in front of my partner to make them feel miserable to get what I want without ever having to put myself in a position of emotional vulnerability.

It better be good, and it better be soon, because this amount of "fuck around" edging without a sufficient "find out" climax is pretty bad pacing if you want your audience to not feel blue balled IMHO.Oh don’t worry bud there’s gonna be consequences, a volume’s worth.
"Next chapter"? You mean this isn't even the worst one yet? We went through this whole shitshow of an arc to end on this chapter, that ended somehow with MC being the wrong one and has to made sacrifices to both his dignity and his life to follow Himari's whim, and Himari will most likely learn nothing from this, or worse, getting reinforcement that as long as she cries, she will get what she want. And you're telling me that it's not the worst yet?The comments section never disappoint me, thank you for that😂 also I hope I finally improved even a little since the first time I translated this series since it's been 3 months now since I started this🙇♂️
Edit: I think the anime will end on this part.
Edit#2: himari haters will probably drop this series after the next chapter😂
Consequences for who though? Cause I far as I can see, entirely based on the comments of people who have read the novel, only Yuu will be suffering the consequences of his choice to follow Himari to Tokyo.Oh don’t worry bud there’s gonna be consequences, a volume’s worth.
Yeah, the novels are also crazy long, too. V4 alone is two physical books in the original Japanese. Plenty for the manga to run on until we're all dead and gone, if they want.Oh no, so there is that much more content in the novels?
That means there is a high possibility for the manga adaptation to end up getting the dreaded "Read the novel for more" ending.![]()
Yuu has one volume of consequences. Himari has another volume for hers. Hers are arguably much more serious.Consequences for who though? Cause I far as I can see, entirely based on the comments of people who have read the novel, only Yuu will be suffering the consequences of his choice to follow Himari to Tokyo.
Honestly I hate her and up until this chapter I used to root for enocchi too, but now... Man that guy is absolutely spineless and broken it seems, incredibly stupid too. I had hopes on him just being "a bit cowardly" at most because his inner monologues seemed interesting. But holy shit this guy... hell nah run Enocchi.Himari hater here. Not exactly hating Himari but hate how she turns out and could be better. It's nice we finally see how Himari almost realize her foolishness, but it's so unfortunate MC's degree of absolute simpiness basically blown that arc out of existence. Himari realizing what she's doing is wrong, be apologetic for her toxicity, and be better is most of what I wanted out of this story.
But regardless, I'm happy that MC chose Himari. Just because I dislike Himari doesn't mean I want to see her completely destroyed and unhappy - not at all. This is because I thought of both MC and Himari as absolute troubled individuals which, by great happenstance, met each other and achieve happy ending with just the two of them, and by extension sparing potential future lovers of their bullshit. It's like seeing garbage taking themselves out.
Thereafter, Enocchi may meet someone better for her in the future. Funny how people go into groups and unwrittenly decided that rooting heroines getting together with MC is the win scenario. Hell naw. If this were real people and are my personal friends, Enocchi dodging him would be the win, but that's just me.
So yeah - I'm a Himari hater that's on team Himari.
But holy shit this guy... hell nah run Enocchi.
On another note did this is still all Himaris fault
nontheless this is very entertaining.
Himawari's hater here: my reaction is "I was expecting their reconciliation", anyone with little experience in rom-coms knows they'll gonna end together. I personally hate her because she reminds me an old friend who behave just like her, but she dind't have Himawari's development, so our blue-haired ahoge will redeem herself 👍🏻The comments section never disappoint me, thank you for that😂 also I hope I finally improved even a little since the first time I translated this series since it's been 3 months now since I started this🙇♂️
