So in America (I can't speak for other countries) "baby boomer" refers to people born in the late 40s through early 60s. In actual use, the younger generations use "boomer" to refer to somebody who they perceive to be older (thus, you may have times where a gen z calls a millennial "boomer"). Nowadays "boomer" has a negative connotation, essentially mocking/dismissing a person for their age and/or for outdated views."boomer" ??

As I already said in my translator notes, the term he uses, 老害, means "problems caused by old people" or "harm to society by gerontocracy" (gerontocracy being a government ruled by old people). Though the term he uses doesn't refer to a specific generation, it falls in line with how "boomer" is currently used. And so, boomer.
They're the 2nd most scariest thing from your own scary motherHe's in DEBT. It all makes sense now
I thought it was a great use personally and it seems to fit something that psychopath would say.So in America (I can't speak for other countries) "baby boomer" refers to people born in the late 40s through early 60s. No one cares what you would prefer to read. Old f*ck is just a meaningless slur but Boomer fits "Harm to society by gerontocracy" perfectly.appreciate the translation,
but considering the setting, I'd prefer to read just "old f*ck" rather than "boomer" which has a specific meaning towards an event in our world

I know you think you are making a good point but you aren't. A large part of translation is localization meaning lines sometimes even whole scenes are added//deleted in movies to make it more appealing or make more sense to the target audience. The examples you gave are all in English so no localization is needed. As I stated in my previous comment, given the context of the line "Harm to society by gerontocracy" Boomer is a very appropriate word to use. Maybe it would have been better given extra context like "Our society is in decay because of Boomers like you!" in which case your suggestion of using Old f*cks would work as well but without the context Boomer is way more apt than Old f*cks. Maybe to you Old f*cks is less jarring to read given the setting but I assure you modern slang in a early industrial age comic is equally as jarring but using Boomer at least gives better context alone.nice
thank you for you kind word
would like to see this boomer word used more in other settings such as in Game of Throne, Star wars, or Lord of the Rings-like settings
for me, it is still rise the question of "where the term came to be?"I know you think you are making a good point but you aren't. Ahh yes, the ever convenient "friend" sources: "Trust me bro"but I asked my Japanese friend, and he said the general usage can mean for "annoying old man"
nice, thanksAhh yes, the ever convenient "friend" sources: "Trust me bro"
Your right though, no one should care about my preference it was never about that. Boomer was more apt given the context of the original Japanese.
This is the last I am gonna post about this you can keep wringing your hands about it but I have stopped giving a fuck.
Technically isn't the negative connotation of boomer still modern slang though...??I know you think you are making a good point but you aren't.
