So far 2 chap in, its still the usual shounen trope with some really annoying char, like i'm ok for it but if it's executed badly it's gon be really bad, which is might not be the case for now but it kinda hit that level when at ch1 to ch2, like some of the progress is just lost at when fmc is terrified to death by the mc near end of ch1 but then she just show no hesitation or unease toward the mc after, and how in ch2 battle she still had her pride with her intact, no scratch whatsoever from the previous battle at ch1
I mean that battle hit her hard in her pride and all but she is just still the same annoying person she is after a near death situation as a reminder to be "less annoying" next time. But well, all that progress for character development just gone like a wind in the sky, it change the world but not the people.

Sorry if I sounded so harsh here, I just hold my standard up for this type of genre as high as "Made in Abyss"

IDK if anyone actually reads mangadex comments before reading the story but this is certainly a skip. Despite having an FMC the entire manga is just a very bland "ooooo look how cool this edgy guy is who's weak but super OP at the same time!" that you've seen a billion times in every other garbage traditional magic setting shonen. The FMC has literally no purpose other than reacting to how cool our resident tortured Cool Guy is (and of course, being the damsel in distress in literally every fight, seriously, every fight she immediately loses, how is that even possible?), and the magic combat system is a bunch of whirls and words with no lore or greater explanation.
They say the guy is weak but you cant fucking tell because theres no way to see how he's weaker, because the magic system is basically nonexistent, and he easily wins all of his fights. I think his greatest power might be having a functioning brain, as no one else on his planet seems to, but thats very normal for manga who want to have a guy who's better than everyone else but are not able to actually write a guy who's better than everyone else.

I can't really recommend this, as much as I want to. It's basically a 'one season' series but it feels like it's the disappointing sequel series that is missing the good first season. Everything is rushed and frankly unsatisfying.

More specifically, this feels like a mid-section of Fullmetal Alchemist that was run through a blender to be darker and edgier. It lacks the fun/adventure early on to draw you in and it lacks the closure of the ending, so all you have is angsty grimdark action that is orphaned from an explanation and setup. The flashbacks don't really do that justice.

The writing is sorta lack luster and has a lot of plot holes. The art is great though and loved every character's design (except for the necromancer). But the fmc barely doing any damage to the not-so-relevant antagonists but suddenly get a power boost at the near end thats equal enough to the main villain out of motivation to help her friend is very very bland. Came for another bland op dude that impresses a girl, left with big love for squad zero. (I LOVE CHARLOTTE❤️❤️❤️❤️)
