I think she REALLY wanted him to tame a dragon. As for her horns I think it's just when she focuses her power.

That being said, this series feels like the author has adhd with how they write.

These are high rank pets and for some reason after beating them and even being carried, their affinity with him is at max. Would it not have been a better story if they had to go through some progression to grow the affinity? I really wonder why these Japanese authors makes an interesting setting only to just ruin the whole thing by half assing it.
