I read the official chapter 5, and at this point that's what I'm going to be doing. I've tried reading various other things done through MTL, and they've all been nonsensical trash that do not respect the reader's time or intelligence.

Yes, I noticed as I read further that he later chapters are excellent, much easier to read. Sorry if my prior comment sounded dickish. I love this series and really appreciate the work you've put into it

if i had a nickel for each isekai manga i'd read today that "comedically" had a woman pissing herself in fear, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird as hell that it happened twice

I did check out the official, and... It's bad for an official translation. There are huge errors.
For example in the official translation, in chapter 2, the guild clerk tells the cockatrice was S-rank, instead of Birena being up-ranked to S-rank.

I recommend to read both. There are a few places were the official has more clear meaning, and there are places were the scanlated version has more clear meaning.
