So... what a twist huh?

Honestly I think Gotou broke again.

If you haven't noticed, Gotou hasn´t really started the sexual encounters he has in this arc, Kume, Akito, Agawa and Kiyomi were the ones that initiated the sexual stuff (I would even go as fas as to say that the last time Gotou ask someone for sex was Agawa after summer break), and at first he has tried to resist some of them.

There is also the fact that well, both Akito and Shinna, kinda left him to his own devices after Kume agreed to take care of his ED, Agawa marked her distance after the hotel incident (Also side tangent but could be important, Agawa hasn't told anyone that her realtionship with Erika and that she prefers girls is a lie, I know that she told Gotou that she started fucking dudes again, but Gotou knows that Agawa is bisexual, her having gf, prefering girls and also fuck some guys isn't that far feched nor is it contradictory), and Kume told him after geting rid of the ED, that they were essentialy done, but, after Kiyomi and learning that Gotou was cured (of course Kume doesn't count in this point) sudently all of them became interested in him again.

Also there is the fact that Gotou belived that Kiyomi was serious about him, just for her to go and say that she is just interested in sex.

Which leaves me to my interpretation of the end of this chapter, to me Gotou is asking them if they want to have sex not because he is horny, but because he belives that the only reason why Agawa and Shigemi are looking for him is because of sex.

And i mean consedering that not even his own mother belives in him, probably has reached the point of beliving that, he is only worth as a meat dildo and maybe that is why he went balistic on Kiyomi.

Now this can be dissproven if it turns out that Gotou is just horny, so only time will tell.

This guy actually NEEDS to have a harem just to deal with his sex drive. Even the teacher wasn't able to handle him. Whoever who will marry this mf will be dead in a couple of months.

This is kind of reasonable, he's hasn't felt like he's done or said much since he was cured of ED except for behave as a mechanism for sex for the girls (which wasn't not true before, but this was kicked off by Kume's healing where he said that he's only useful for his dick) and his explanation for not going raw was it was better for his stamina compared to any other reason.

It's very silly anyways, obviously, but there's something to that I think. It's just been nearly 30 chapters (more if you count how he was during the ED stuff) of this, it's kind of spinning it's wheels.

I've never given this a good proper read, I skimmed through most of it because I saw people talking about it in another manga's threads, so I'm not especially invested in Gotou or whatever he has going on at the moment, so it's neat to see a comment like this.

I am of the belif that Gotou feels gulty and/or belives that his relationship with Agawa went wrong after cumming inside

Yeah it kinda feels like the manga is stalling, the main ship hasn't even sailed and already has a bunch of holes, Agawa and Gotou have like a handfull of romantic moments and those were early on, hell even the author kinda recongiced this by making Kume call out Agawa on why she is trying so hard with him.

And honestly this chapter looks more like its setting up Agawa to retreat back to her shell again.

Also welcome man, the manga is a train wreck, but here we are talking about it.

I think that's fair, that is probably his larger hesitation with being raw, it even made an explicit reference to it in the chapter where she talked about making a baby now that i've read the full thing without speeding through.

He's done a great job at being a weirdo who has been hostile to the very things she liked about him to begin with, in the little pre-ED segment especially (even though for some reason she felt bad about that, and realistically this hasn't been resolved either, but if Takeda SUPER wants to go with the little conversation during his sex gauntlet that one day resolving it, it is what it is.), but that was his first big misstep, and probably informs the way he's being with kiyo.

Yeah, there wasn't anything that was romantic between them since like... before summer break, and the sort of character of Gotou has been nothing since before that, but has been extra nothing since after that.

since the start of the ED arc is spinning wheels because of the vaguely reasonable (in a sex comedy) stress of having your relationships dismantled by the girl you actually like, and having it be further dismantled in a way that 'fixes' the ED, but since the 'emotional' character of the relationships didn't change, nothing is really 'fixed' and then it immediately goes into essentially a bunch of slapstick comedy where it's just a bunch of shoddily drawn erotic scenes (the earlier ones looked a little better i think), which is kind of funny, but it is wearing out it's welcome and the joke of Gotou being able to fuck a lot isn't as funny to me as some of the other stuff. even the paneling gags are more fun than that joke.

And honestly this chapter looks more like its setting up Agawa to retreat back to her shell again.
Probably, there's basically been no character work with the leads since chapter probably before chapter 98 or so (i guess 114 is good, since it was mostly Kume and Agawa talking), just, basically the girls harassing Gotou for fun while sex happens because that's what happens here.

I think she has to hit him with a 'what is wrong with you' like when he propositioned her after summer break.

Well, i gave it a proper read, and I'm here for the ride i guess. I saw someone bring it up in a Sasha-chan thread, so, there's some shared vibe there, even though that one is downright sweet compared to this.

I do like all of the girl characters. I think The Class President's insatiability is funnier than Gotou. shout out Akito, i hope you free yourself from this prison.

I don't imagine this will ever go in any direction but sideways, but sure. why not.

To me, Agawa apologises because, honestly, she has been hot and cold wiith Gotou for a while, in fact, at the end of the Shinna arc Agawa told Gotou in a nutshell that they were just sex-friends, however in the Akito arc she is clearly jealous of how much attention he is giving to Akito, just for her to draw her line in the sand again by the end of said arc. She retreats from Gotou, eventualy misses him and goes back, just for something to happen and she retreats again.

In fact the way Gotou acts pre-ED is the same way Agawa has treated him before, to me Agawa realizes that she has some blame in this and apologices, in fact in her recent chapter with Gotou, she says something along the lines of "I won't judge people of the same things I do" it feels like an indirect apollogy for Gotou.

tl;dr, Agawa asked Gotou to be just a sex-friend, he complied, and she disliked that. To me Gotou does what he thinks Agawa will like, in fact, both of them make decisions based on the little info that the have of each other with a little bit of trauma mixed in.

Honestly, i don't think that will work, and well considering that the last time she pulled that out, thing got worse.

This is fair. He's at an impasse between his different sorts of desires and is unsure how to square that circle.

He does seem to try to make his choices based on what Agawa likes, and when pushed even though he says he likes everyone, he does have special affection for Agawa. But since they both only kind of know about each other sexually, he took her suggestion in a way that led to him kind of becoming different from what she liked about their sex. Since then, because of the pacing and how certain elements have been spinning it's wheels, Gotou's been as stagnant as ever, regressing into a dildo, but his conversation with Shinna way back at the festival suggests he does want romance over being sex friends with anyone, but he has kind of been denied this by the way he's been thinking (which is downstream from his talks with Agawa and the way Shiina easily compartmentalizes it, but its not their fault), since he could easily be dating Akito, but 'anyone' actually just means Agawa.

It's mentioned a few times that he's very cuddly, and affectionate, (even if the scenes never ever show this off lmao or at least I don't think so) something Agawa likes because she likes kissing, and that he has a lot of stamina. During the time at the hotel pre-ED he embodies the opposite of this, but it was because he was trying to do what Agawa asked of him. I don't think Agawa kind of calling out that this attitude change as undesirable, when it is at odds with what Agawa (and everyone else) seems to like about sex with Gotou, but it makes sense for it to feel hypocritical because if we bring up Akito, Akito is kind of just like Gotou. In a sex friend relationship that she wants to be more. When Agawa mentions that Akito looks uncomfortable, it's fair, but it's also true that there are plenty of men, certainly including Gotou (and even the guy from the start), who are uncomfortable as just sex friends with Agawa. (There's the extended issue with Shinna intentionally spoiling any previous near-romances Agawa has had, but that's kind of irrelevant to that matter)

With Agawa It's clear that, in some regards, she desires an affectionate partner, but vulnerability doesn't come easy, so she opts for sex because it's emotionally satisfying, but for some reason or another she was willing to get a bit vulnerable with Gotou, bringing him to her job, her reluctance to have him involved with Shinna especially, so she does like him - more than other sex friends, but since a long time ago she hasn't really even been able to talk to Gotou (except for the recent chapter where she was messing with his confused state, but you're right that that was also an indirect attempt at apologizing)
Honestly, i don't think that will work, and well considering that the last time she pulled that out, thing got worse.
This is also fair. It probably would not work on the face of it, because the times before haven't worked, but that feels like Gotou's attempts at self reflection are all ridiculous? And Agawa immediately pulls away despite having these emotions. Kume was the first person to point both of these things out though, so maybe she could even out the actions and reactions, because Kume is very normal relatively speaking. Even Gotou and her's second sex scene at his house feels more like a fever dream than something that happened, but that whole segment from chapter 98-110 is that way.

Also, just because it's probably relevant for how I will talk about things, I tend to be much easier on women characters in these sorts of stories (the erotic ones, especially), maybe to a fault, because they tend to have a bit more meat to their characterization, since they're the main attraction, and the male characters tend to be defined in relationship to them instead of anything else.
Most of what we know about Gotou is that he likes Agawa, and that he used to play baseball which we know because of Akito, just like how in Karami Zakari (Airi has done a few illustrations in some of the 25 page chapters, so I was thinking about it), in both the pornographic doujinshi and the Seinen manga, until like the halfway point, all we know about Yamashigi is that he likes Iida.

It's weird how a bunch of serialized quasi-hentai works I've been reading keep doing this "SEX WITH A CONDOM ONLY!!!" bullshit, it kinda feels like a mandate by the publisher or something

I hate condoms in real life and even more in fiction. One of the perks of being Generation X was barebacking our way through the 80’s and 90’s. They’ve freaking brainwashed every generation past mine into thinking those things are necessary.

To me this manga isn't a ero romcom, it feels more like an ero tragicomedy, outside of like Shinna at first, Inukai in the summer arc and maybe Kiyomi, most of the bad things that happen are a result of not enough context and character doing something that they belive is for the better, just for it to blow up on their faces. Hell that whole pre-ED disaster its essentialy both Gotou and Agawa not knowing what the other went through in the summer break.

Also the everyone=Agawa is my preffered interpretation of Gotou's rambles.
(and even the guy from the start)
His name is Yuki if im not mistaken, the pre-serialized antagonist and childhood friend of Agawa.
bringing him to her job
It's the library commitee, they are both involved and in theory this is were Gotou fell for Agawa, We don't know why Gotou joined but Agawa did it because it's a lax club and she could bail out to go fuck with other guys.

I mean that could be nice for Kume to mediate this situation by calling both of them out, but honestly i think that Takeda has been hinting at something, To me it feels like Gotou will give up on Agawa, remeber the whole everyone=Agawa thing in his rambles of chater 98 onwards they feel mostly directed at Agawa, and considering the ideas that Kume put on his head, and Kiyomi coming out to say that she is just in it for sex, that is to me a logical conclution of his character.

To me Takeda for some reason wants Agawa and Gotou to swap their starting possitions, Now Gotou is the nipho who is using sex as a coping mechanism, and Agawa is the one who is in love but also can't confess properly because baggage. In fact considering that their aproach to the library committe has been swaped kinda reinforses my theory.

Yeah, this feels like the most consistent throughline with him, and it's a conversation that he's had Shinna and most recently with Kume with Kume even calling out that it's actually Agawa near the end of their first time together, so i landed on it too.

In chapter 12 they go to the batting cages on the day where they manage to dodge Inukai (and the sticking it in raw incident happens) and She learns that he's good at being a batter (and you learn why when Akito comes around in chapter 33 or so), and Agawa mentions she works there (and again when she mentions she sees Akito at work sometimes) and she shares she's never told a sex friend where she works.

One of the handful of actual moments

I guess we'll see. chapter 115 is a lot of chapters for this genre of story, so there could be a reckoning soon, but the chapters are only 12 pages, so there could be another handful of arcs before we have that sort of moment since that's half as many pages as other manga. The way Agawa was talking to Kume does suggest that there could be more chapters about Agawa taking seriously her own emotions depending on how things go

His name is Yuki if im not mistaken, the pre-serialized antagonist and childhood friend of Agawa.
Yeah, his name is Yuki. unfortunately i cannot find this full thing in English otherwise i would've read that too already, but i'm not terrible at reading spanish, and it has a full translation in spanish, so i'll probably read that soon.

-----

Edit: Upon giving some chapters another reread while at work, Gotou makes everything about himself somehow. When Akito was crying in the bathroom, he blamed himself when there was no reason to think this, he just assumed it because he had been the reason Agawa was getting heat in the wake of the threesome (which, ya know, also led to an instance of Agawa 'distancing' from him, even though all that happened was that they didn't have sex for a while they still chatted, not until the pre-ED event) but for some reason he also assumes Akito is crying over him, when She was crying about something we wouldn't know about until her and her friends made up, something unrelated to anything.

I could be overindexing, but it does kind of feel related to him taking everything Kume said to heart during his masochism arc, especially since Agawa chewing him out was an essential component of his ED. He blames his own libido on everything that goes wrong, even things that have nothing to do with him, and even things that are just his fault, be it due to reading signals wrong or something else.

And somewhat related: Agawa is mostly right about everything, even if there's some built in hypocrisy or latent emotions with regard to Gotou in particular, it is fucked up and weird to run up on somebody, suggest a threesome and then confess in the same breath. You maybe should ask over text first. It is weird to be super cocky and an asshole about your sexual prowess, especially when it makes the sex worse. These are issues with Libido but also Gotou not confronting his own emotions well.

There's just... You know. Agawa did the threesome, and was an element in these decisions, maybe even more than she knew at the time. And Agawa also does not confront her own emotions well.

Anyways, this has been way too much typing about this manga. I'll either read along and be in the comments or give it a month and read an actual chapters amount before popping back in. Idk yet. Either way, I will be reading the discussions

Ima be real, you might be joking but is true. This was the most effective way to neutralize a Yandere. You Ino Reverse you position in the relationship.
The only way for Yanderes to be controllable really. I haven't found a series that manage to do it any other way.

And as you can tell, Gotou was physically too exhausted to do the 3P. They left the teacher to recover in her bed. With that said, I do enjoy the dynamic between Gotou, Agawa and Shige in the next chapter.
