It is a joke but it still tells alot about their relationship that she not only dipped on Gotou right after sex but then forgets his name and can only characterise him based on his sexual prowess when trying to ask Agawa from him.

She turned Gotou from a bum to getting 100s on all her tests and she never made it explicit that she just wanted to fuck him as what happened at the end of the tutoring arc was Gotou's plan. She was even bummed out when Gotou left her at the festival.

I suppose the darker side of her if anything is that she’s basically manipulated Gotou to distance himself from the other girls, maybe to make him more exclusive to her. But even that feeds into her having a thing for him.

It could, I definitely agree that she probably wants him exclusively but moreso just to fuck rather than anything romantic

In all likelihood, every heroine in this series likes Gotou to a point, even if their reasons and relationship goals differ. Even Shiina I suppose.

I don't see how its apples to oranges, If I said that Shiina wants to be Gotou's girlfriend and if you counter by using Akito's behaviour and compare it to argue against that, by your logic I could say "apples to oranges, we are talking about Shiina not Akito". Shiina blushing around Gotou most of the time > Shigechi blushing due to a compliment if blushing was the only indicator. Of course I don't believe Shiina cares about Gotou more than Shigechi but I feel that both don't like him the way Akito or Kiyo does.

If we are taking a more vague approach to the meaning of like then sure, every main girl likes Gotou - if we are defining like by something more akin to what Gotou wants (which is someone who wants something serious) then only Akito fits that imo.

I don't think it was malicious, moreso that she was just done with him in that moment. And I think saying she was dejected is a stretch, when Gotou accused Shiina of wanting to mess with him during the tutoring she got upset as she genuinely wanted to help him. Being charitable. I think Shigechi definitely has an interest in him but sees that he clearly isn't a legit guy as she is always pointing out his hypocrisy.

To me I think Shigechi is just interested in Gotou because he satisfied her during sex, is curious why Agawa seems hung up on him and is also interested in since he seems popular with girls now. It was stated before that she mainly hangs out around popular people and back when Gotou was a nobody she was repulsed by him.

To put a finer point on it, focusing on Shigemi alone, I just think you’re seeing a degree of lets call it apathy in her that isn’t really there.

What do you think her expression is trying to convey in both images? Why is her expression hidden when Gotou is accusing her of insincerity? Why is she looking sad in the first image after blowing off his conversation post sex? To put it simply she’s a tsundere. She puts up a vaguely hostile, emotionally detached tough girl front, while inside she’s swooning over a boy who fucks her like nobody else, and at the same time respects her boundaries and earnestly compliments her.
