The true horror here is the PC possibly not working anymore.
I still recall that one time my computer stopped working because there was a mechanical failure with my HDD.

Wonder how expensive 'custom/build your own pcs' are in JP, must be sucky if it costs a lot for a home computer versus an office one

I'm not really sure what to take away from this. It's unclear if anything described here is actually meant to have happened with in the manga's meta-story, but I guess the impression I'm getting is that the "but not really"s are actually some form of backpedaling or something? Like Komori's not supposed to be saying any of this and is quickly going back on it once he realizes... But like multiple times for some reason? Hard to say.

No clue. I have outdated off hand information of that from back in the DS days when mobile was far more prevalent, handheld gaming devices were more common and at home devices were on the downturn. While also on the PC end, the JP indie scene was extremely lacking, at most we knew of some RPGmaker games and a very small amount of 3D indie games. Even now with DLSite, I don't know how big or small the indie scene is in Japan in terms of success and in that regard how much it pushes the need for at home towers versus the more space saving laptops and whether or not there even is a high demand for laptops when a lot of people gravitate towards the convenience of the most handheld computer that's mass produced out there, a smartphone.

Also, a quick look into some conversations about moving to Japan that I found by random while searching whether component parts were more expensive in Japan or not seems to show that, at least five years ago, some people who moved to Japan were saying how the parts were more expensive. Which I wonder if it's due to market demand and supply in the area. I don't imagine that the sort of elitism and constant seeking for maximum performance applies to JP as much as it does to the EN gaming sphere, so the demand for high end computer parts might be low in Japan. But again, I don't speak Japanese so I dunno. I'm just making general guesses with the limited knowledge I got.
