Thinking on it, there’s a sense of complacency, arrogance, and laziness amongst the spiritualists. It explains how the replaced got to where they are, and how they were able to create a baby monster ghost using Yayoi’s mother as the host. Maybe Yayoi will be able to break that complacency and laziness that the spiritualists will take the current problems seriously enough to clean up some of the more destructive ghosts.
