@Watercell Wasn't it that
she'd turn into a Replacement if it went all the way up to her head? Losing her legs accelered the degradation rate greatly (and it progresses faster and faster as she lost more of her body) was one of the first two issues he had to deal with to keep her stable long-term.

@Harvester Maybe I'm a small brain, but
I'm pretty sure becoming a replacement doesn't mean she doesn't have to kill herself, maybe she did that to not let her brother see her getting killed idk. Also, are you saying she'll turn into one and she killed herself to stop that or she has become a replacement?

@Watercell Yeah, I was running with the second line of thought. After all, one of the premises that the series is running with is
that she's going around desperately hunting for cores to prevent becoming a Replacement, so it's not much of a stretch to say that she'd rather die as a human before becoming a Replacement. On the other hand, I don't think it was ever covered how other people respond to a human becoming a Replacement or how successfully a Replacement can fully replace the original. For some reason, I want to say that she also kills herself in a few loops because she can't bear the thought of him randomly murdering non-Replacement people after the phone breaks, but could be me wandering off in my own world. In both cases though, the idea of 'keeping your humanity' is present... though that opens up a whole different can of philosophical worms.

this manga could have benefited from a better editor, the first chapter is a complete mess you have no idea whats going on or what the premise is. Clearly a rookie mangaka. It's a damn shame because the concept is interesting.
