@MissBrainProblems sure, but aside from a few popular series, nobody actually wants drama, and nobody wants to waste time, money and effort working on something if somebody else is already doing it. It's not possessive, it's a calling card and a common courtesy. I certainly wouldn't want to start working on something to find out somebody else had already done it and I had wasted my time.
