The translation felt wonky here and there but still, this was a very interesting and somewhat dark manga. Thanks for working on this, it was a good read!

daaaaaaaamn is all i can say, reading this in one go is much better than waiting chapter by chapter,
a bit of a messed up story but none the less quite interesting, not tooooo too dark as to leave a bad taste in your mouth, but deals with quite an uncomfortable subject;
chapter 5 is where it's at, i personnaly think that chapter depicted an intense scene very skilfully, like legit felt like i was watching instead of reading, the ominous religious teaching as the baptism scene played out , was just ... delicious;
the old school art style gave it quite the charm too;

also welcome to my stupid TEDTALK down below: miss rona changed me into a thinker, pfft;

I kept thinking about one thing:
both chika and aki thought that they were the same even if the world judged them as different by nature;
1)first aki's dad tells chika that she should stop obsessing over Aki, because they were not the same (does he mean that she refused the teaching to the point of murder therefore can't belong, or that she escaped from their world and shouldn't be dragged into it ....) Chika retaliates that they were the same, both chika and aki were similar in nature growing, normal (meh) playing cheerful children and quite loving of each other, chika wasn't a bad child and aki wasn't so different than her, so why would aki's dad think that chika is deserving of her bad fate but aki worthy of escaping it ? i personnaly think he said that because the law got involved, and not the killing that alianated her, she's not limited to theit little cult anymore, one wrong move and the popo be knocking on their shack;

2) the law judged their sins as unequal whether in severity or punishment, akis were self defence, chika in greed ; but both crimes are a result of their environment not their inherent nature, therefore chika thinks it's unfair , if aki gets to kill two people and gets away with it because of her rejection of the cult, then why can't chika get away with murder if it's also caused by the immorality of that cult ? it doesn't matter if one murder two or three, a crime is a crime and the root cause is the same;
the law judged them as different by nature and chika argued that they were similar by nature only their luck differed;

3) Aki agrees with chika, that if she were the one three years younger than Chika, she ll be the one in her place, since they were arguably the same , then should the roles be reversed, then the scenario will play the same but with the girls switched,
you see, here is the thing, 'if' scenarios are not real scenarios; if we declare that their environment would have produced criminals either way, then the conculusion shouldn't be "the only thing seperating their fate is the luck of being born three years earlier", it should be : ok if it's unescapable, what kind of criminals are we talking ? ; maybe if the roles were reversed aki would've done exactly the same by killing her main assaulters, if aki felt stuck like chika did in that prison and grew unable to kill them maybe she would have opted to kill herself than go through with theit teachings;
maybe Aki woudln't have ever dared to kill a child out of bitterness and jealousy;

really to recap this story in one sentence:
Aki ascaped by commiting a crime and chika believed she could do the same;
the law went : bish you thought; you won't get judged for who you could have been or who you were, you are judged on who you are now;

but daaamn that chapter 5 stills plays out in my head and how chika eventually wasn't able to be washed of her sins and born anew with a new name;

the more i kept thinking about this story the more i liked it, but now i got it out of my system :)
thanks for translating!

Looking at the cover, I thought it was a historical manga. Turns out it's another crime/police manga. I love it. ❤️
