From re-reading a few chapters ago.
MC's ex-family conspired with demons for...well, reasons. Probably trying to monopolize power though the brother's ability.
Since if they're truly sincere in the whole un-discrimination for lack of gifts, them kicking MC out in the opening would be one massive hypocrisy on their part.
Right now they're killing/converting anyone who might pose a threat (commander who can nullify gifts, the knights)

Beatrice at the end is the knight who's with MC so MC party should be here.

Not only was this too long ago... but frankly, the previous translator added way too many ads in between for many of the chapters (and they were mini group ads too... so they could have all been put on one page)....

And the stuff is too heavy and feels dragged... so this felt more like a chore to read for the last few chapters...

Repeating over and over "gifts are a curse" kinda BS....

If you can't understand the story then reread the manga, the chapter is completely clear so yeah, it isn't MTL.
