It seems other people have resorted to scanning the English releases on other sites....

So that explains why my RSS feed had a dozen new chapters that were suddenly deleted.

@bastek66 I was considering buying the official releases, but then realized they suck, oh well, guess I'll just have to wait until I magically wake up one day speaking Japanese.....

@homogenized The official release is pretty much a 4kids translation gone through google translator and then through a proofreader so as to not make it obvious that they have no intention of maintaining the original meaning of the joke and simply go with whatever will fit inside the text bubble and still make some kind of sense.

In short, they suck.

@VladDracul2 you got it
@homogenized That's the attitude they have for not just that page, but for the entire manga, I see it as a form of censorship and I don't like it, worst of all, it wasn't even anything explicit, it was a more of a Getting Crap Past the Radar thing, I want to read Petosu's work, not whatever the localizers decide to rewrite it too, but sadly, some scantilator groups do the same thing (I have one particular group I mind, but that's not the point of the discussion so no use saying who, you'll notice yourself if it's something you care about), I find myself more and more often having to look up the raws and use the google translate app on my phone to translate the Kanji/Hiragana to Romanji (because I can more or less understand a decent amount of Japaneses, I just can't read it yet.) so I can either understand whats really going on or catch the nuances that localization strips the media of. I'll probably just try to formally learn Japanese and start importing the originals someday, as soon as I get off my lazy ass.

It's the point that if they changed just that little bit of dialogue, what else are they changing that we don't know of simply because we don't have the raws in front of us and can read Japanese?
My guess is someone in the publisher's office looked at the "I'd get hairs in my mouth" remark and said, "NOT IN THIS WHOLESOME HOUSE!" because the first thing that comes to mind tends to be oral sex.

While a literal translation of Japanese to English would be... god awful... to read 99% of the time, this shit doesn't fly either and is either censorship or just laziness. I'm unsure of which.

Well, I'm not going to argue your opinion, but I think you should have used a better example, because I checked in the bookstore, the actual chapter 20 does have mention the hair, just not in that particular bubble, instead it's in that little out-of-bubble text below her face, which that between chapter strip you linked doesn't include (it said something like "all that hair", where the fan translation here says "soft hair"). Basically they didn't do a bubble-to-bubble equivalent and instead translated her statement as a whole.

A better choice would be how they decided to use the word "tough" instead" of "hard", I'm guessing because in English one typically doesn't uses "hard" to describe an arm or skin, but you don't really use "tough" to describe the lower arm. I think "stiff", in reference to "stiff muscles", would've been better, it would still keep the double meaning.

@ichigoteguz Thanks for that. That translation is much worse. Not going to bother with the official paperbacks for this series. I hope it gets picked up again.

@Homogenized Risking sounding a bit "off the wall" here, I just don't trust the system anymore, any system for that matter, and every time I think about giving them a second chance, they pull shit like that to one degree or another, so I'll just do my best to move closer to the source instead of expecting the source to come to me, and I guess that means learning Japanese and importing manga from Japan, but hey, at least I won't have any money left over for drugs or prostitutes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

@Aya If at least one person benefited from me going on that rant then it all had meaning, I can now sleep peacefully at night, thank you good citizen?

The Anime uses the line about Hair so it's odd that they translated it differently here.
@Aya the rest of the chapters are available on another site.
