A randomized and paid base stat point? Even EA isn't that greedy
This is probably the most crap character creation I've ever seen in any game or manga (or anime, LN, WN, w/e). PTW, random starting points, random class choices, time limited character creation...

I mean, most real games don't even have a significant amount of starting points, if any at all, and just give base stats, so you can add more points from levels after you get more and more familiar with the game. Getting screwed over from the get-go is something all games want to avoid. In game mangas it's pretty much default, though. Game-like mangas (isekai or not) are actually more realistic in that aspect.

So they are legit just playing a game with no actual stakes or risk?

And I am supposed to get invested in this?

I can do this myself by just playing actual pay 2 win games IRL, this is lame.

I thought this translation wasn't that good, but comparing it to the official one... jeez

Random point allotment with a Pay-2-Win function, seemingly random class selection, and a timed character creator... This game is gonna die so fast.

I'm not reading about a protagonist who spent four hundred US dollars on better starting mmo stats, holy shit.

Is that some propaganda by some greedy f2p/p2w publisher? Making kids believe this is standard practice so they think it's normal when they encounter real life predatory games?

Seeing how they give lots of free rolls and credits to Youtubers, VTubers and other streamers to play their games, because they can't advertise directly to underage kids due to their gambling mechanics, I wouldn't be surprised.

...That's four hundred dollars.
But paying $400 USD to boost his character at the beginning did give him extra nice looking clothing and a slightly effeminate look (assuming the artist is fine with that kind of male character). And his casting wand looks to be quite fancy for his level one starting character. And he starts the game with a demihuman tamed creature too. This looks like an unethical game already since the ability to purchase character stats, character skills, and improved class position means that P2P tournaments are unfair. And the $400 price tag reminds me of a Private (not official) ragnarok online server that would give a player character a 4-card slot shield which is grossly unfair to other P2P and WoE players on that private server. It was possible to get a 4-slot Mjolnir weapon too for $400 USD. That was like 12 years ago, so with inflation and profiteering, it would be closer to $1000 USD now for such items based upon experienced food/drygoods/services price inflation. The government supplied inflation number was changed twice to yield artificially low values, so I will not use the federal reserve numbers for inflation during obama and biden years. The inputs were redefined for certain circumstances and the formula was also redefined. My wallet experienced inflation for the same items and inflation tax increases, and that is the "actual inflation" to me. So that $400 value has some significance to me since I saw such numbers used in a private server mmorpg game before.

It still amazes me that so many of these MMORPG stories look like they were written by someone who has never played one.
I mean, a character creation with a time limit, really?
