Just thought would be different, ended up being trash yet like any good trainwreck,we can't look the other wayI have no idea why thirty thousand people bookmarked this manga. I never thought so many people would actually read it.

Tbf the reason he gives for NOT wanting to be friends isn't because of her. Its a pretty half assed reason. She's 100x better than the insulting bitchy friend.Regardless of MC's reasons for keeping distance, I don't like how the tomboy basically blackmailed him into being friends with her again. That's not even a friendship at that point, more like a hostage situation he can't get out of unless he willingly chooses himself and his reputation to go up in flames, and what will that girl do after that?
Add into the other girl who acts all haughty and salty towards him for not being chosen to be confessed to, and I can't see which one is the better girl right now. This is honestly a really bad introduction for all the characters.
Remember that this is high school. This manga is pretty low-quality, but his reaction isn't that unreasonable. You absolutely should care what others think to some extent in all life situations because what they think can result in consequences. This is a romcom manga, so nothing will happen beyond jealous nameless guys seething in the background, but in real life he could get bullied or ostracized for being friends with a pretty girl while not being among the popular kids of the class. This can happen in any Western country, so just imagine what it must be like in Japan where conformity and "knowing your place" are even more important. Obviously, he's taking it a bit too far with wanting to avoid her, but again, this is just a manga.Hmm I don't really like the mc attitude. He cares too much what other think because he hanging with a beautiful girl. Let them be jealous!
On one hand, I get you. On the other hand, I'm tolerant of that particular thing, not only because of how judgmental the Far East is towards anything that sticks out, but also the way in which they act towards it. There's a reason this stuff keeps getting made. More and more people are relating to this in Japan and by social constitution, it is not designed to end.Hmm I don't really like the mc attitude. He cares too much what other think because he hanging with a beautiful girl. Let them be jealous!
The justification is less a direct plot inclusion (at this point, anyway), and more of a cultural subtext thing. MC is from the lower-end of the social strata, and by her not only being cute but also a transfer student, she gets to start off at the top and "pick a clique," something you can't do if you're already "settled."She's not even any more popular than any other transfer student would be. It is expected that she would start making friends around now, so it wouldn't be weird for him to be one of them. There's no reason for them to hide their friendship.
Like, I don't actually have as much of a problem with the whole "hiding our relationship" trope as some people, but come on, there's absolutely no reason for it here. It feels like the author just included it for the sake of it. There's no justification.
All it can take is one confession going wrong to ruin relationships for a young'un, especially if you felt misled. Why is the mc treating a close friend of his that he didn't meet for years like that???
just drop it, you are just goona suffer more, if the start is this bad "i mean it bad, not like the boring type which gets better later" then its better to dropRegardless of MC's reasons for keeping distance, I don't like how the tomboy basically blackmailed him into being friends with her again. That's not even a friendship at that point, more like a hostage situation he can't get out of unless he willingly chooses himself and his reputation to go up in flames, and what will that girl do after that?

MS girl was Shimazaki Hiyori. You can tell she's obviously a different girl from the hairclip... (JK but accessories are often the only way to tell some characters apart even in much better manga.)I hope the new girl wins, the old girl is a tsundere and I am Wayne Gretzky of hating tsunderes
Whilst I agree with you Japan has a culture of conformity and even though most people forget it they had a very strict caste system that was only abolished relatively recently and even then they still have aristocracy and a monarchy, people only want to see people together if they think they match. It could legitimately cause problems for him to date her unless he was say on one of their sports teams or something.
I legitimately thought the blonde girl the FL was friends with was the girl he confessed to at 1st (doesn't help that she doesn't have a name) then I thought the new girl was the girl he confessed, all 3 do legitimately look the same
I keep notes and specifically write down hair and noticeable accessories.Bruh this samey art style is gonna be the end of me the artist is incapable of making blond girls look distinct from each other...
Bitch-chan's getting her stupid prize for playing the stupid game.H
Honestly, I doubt she ever would reveal it. She's just probably using it to prevent him from distancing himself from her with the intention of never exposing it, cuz Japanese MCs are gonna be Japanese MCs and even Japanese heroines are getting tired of it.
Nixing that though, peppy>tsundere every single time.
But the blackmail is a necessary plot development because when you have an MC that is SO generic and SO bland and SO incapable of taking the steps necessary to change his life, the girl HAS to take measures to force him to change.Regardless of MC's reasons for keeping distance, I don't like how the tomboy basically blackmailed him into being friends with her again. That's not even a friendship at that point, more like a hostage situation he can't get out of unless he willingly chooses himself and his reputation to go up in flames, and what will that girl do after that?

Typical loser mentalityHmm I don't really like the mc attitude. He cares too much what other think because he hanging with a beautiful girl. Let them be jealous!
