Vaguely remember there being something about that in the first few chapters. There has also been the odd comment when someone logs off on screen. So it's not that he doesn't acknowledge the fact she can't or why.

But honestly after a while you just have to keep moving forward or you will stop living your life for the future and be trapped in the past.

Crim's (Kou's) dad the GM kind of tricked him/her into not worrying about it on day 1. He said that Crim not being able to log out is intentional but didn't really explain why, and she just kinda trusted him without putting in much thought.

just my opinion, but i think it's nice that they put the focus on other stuff until the next round of the tournament. tournament arcs are usually a slog to read for me so i find it nice that they break it up a little
