Well, it's probably disbelief or scared as hell of him? I don't know, it's literally a co-op quest, her being afraid of crim currently is just making that situation worse for herself in every way. Though maybe that's due to it being vr lol

Also, I thought she read about crim from a newspaper about getting "Stuff stolen" because of PKing, I think that's the main reason of her being scared currently about him.

If she's really that scared, she could just rejects the co-op request, bail out from there, and wait for other players or post LFGs in a safe zone instead.

But nope! Let's just continue the quest with 120% anxiety and full of distrust, because that sounds about right!

Like, seriously, is it really hard to use common sense? I really dislike this kind of forced development, because it's down right silly.

The roper dude was right about her making a wall for around herself tho.
Because partying with someone who can't work as a team is a terrible idea, since the person will always ends up as a burden that drags down the whole party, and could even the culprit for failing the quest.

The Roper guy literally tried to put some sense into the girl about working as a team, but her reactions is still indifferent, where she still distrust everyone, since she's the anti-social kind of player who does everything solo, even in an MMO.

I mean, wasn't the whole point of accepting the co-op request to know more about crim? I thought that was the reason, but still seemed to distrust her after all this time. lol

I feel bad for crim due to thinking he could get along, but the girl has so much anxiety built up and distrust (mostly due to the paper) that it'll take a long while for her to get used to him. She doesn't have common sense though.

The Roper guy was on the right track and tried to tell her, but she is the type to deflect in her head/mind which she took negatively due to him not "knowing her" and she thinking that he was wrong. (You are correct on the solo MMO part btw, funny tho lol)

Though, in my opinion, she is not that well-built mentally as a person enough to be partying with people she doesn't trust, that aren't her friends, which is the issue here unfortunately.

Like you said, it is forced development and silly, butttt It's a manga tho, shouldn't be thinking too much into it lol

Is the room glitching with 2 parties having different plot-lines (mermaid vs zombie) that use the same room for plot-progression, with both parties present at same time?

Rather big spoiler about the arc
It's a hint to one of the boss's attack method: high pressure water jet cutter.
But it's also a hint to the true boss: another of those corpse-robot piloting giant mermaid mecha.

Also it's actually 5 players quest, though this part of the quest progress with just 4 players.

I wouldn't say that she still entirely distrusts Crim, most of the surrounding context to the panel where she freaked out again this chapter showed her being closer to Crim than she ever was before - accepting Crim's hand and then also reaffirming her desire to finish out the quest with Crim. Her reaction to Crim slipping and falling on her is like having a chihuahua and accidentally dropping a bunch of silverware on the floor next to it. Even though your chihuahua trusts you unconditionally, of course it would still completely freak out in that situation.

And that only happened after Roper talked to her, where he clearly saw that the girl is nothing but a burden to her party with her overly precautions attitude, in which she still tries to deny it to the very end, which is laughable.

Like, if she's THAT afraid in making connection or communicating with others, then why even bother try to apply a guild, let alone playing MMOs? That's like saying I'm claustrophobic, but I love being in small places, just because!

Imagine if the Roper guy stay silent, that girl's attitude won't even change the slightest, and Crim will be the one who carry her throughout the whole quest.

If she did and Crim really was as bad as she feared then nothing would have stopped Crim from PKing her right then and there.
IF Crim was that kind of player, he won't be putting LFG near dungeon, and the girl would be dead the moment she appeared in front of the dungeon, let alone accepting the quest, lol.

Yeah, this arc feels annoying and drawn out. Who tf cares about a little shit who doesn't want to get along with anybody. Drop her ass and move on. I like that knuckle dude. He's awesome. Recruit him and his friend.

She doesn't have common sense though.
Absolutely nothing common about it, unfortunately.

Crim got squished. Like a bug. Or maybe a tomato?

Such a nerd.

I wonder how realistic the graphics of that game is to them, if they can say she looks like a middle schooler... I mean, I can't tell.

"T-that's not what I..."
No, I'm pretty sure he's spot on. She's building walls. And funny she should take offence to someone judging her without knowing her well enough. That's obviously completely different from judging someone based on a shady tabloid.

"Cadaveroids." Sounds... interesting? Grotesque?

"Under the sun, their hearts and their souls are released!
A paradise of beauties that become the walking dead!
Erotically tempting zombies are bursting out!"
Something's not right, indeed. Sounds like one of them horror pornos.

Need some flowers in the background
A few lilies wouldn't hurt.

But nope! Let's just continue the quest with 120% anxiety and full of distrust, because that sounds about right!
That's the weird part. Too contradictory to make sense.

The fuck kinda name is "roper" dude

Dont forget that this still just a regular ass videogame
So her being this terrified of dying makes absolutely no sense
I swear every VR game manga has this problem where people act way too serious and they arent even larping
Who knows. Maybe they get bullied at work or school for dying or -social credits. In this kind of situations i just put the most stupid idea as a solution. It numbs the pain

Note that was after Roper talked to her, and told her she was building a wall around herself, literally a few pages earlier she declined the same thing, because she was nervous about her, she only built up a little bit more confidence in crim due to small talk with Roper.

Her reaction to Crim slipping and falling on her is like having a chihuahua and accidentally dropping a bunch of silverware on the floor next to it. Even though your chihuahua trusts you unconditionally, of course it would still completely freak out in that situation.

I thought it was the classic get kicked due to about to kiss or become yuri trope, because that is what I find funny.
also, as a chihuahua owner of 15 years, my dog only did that once, where do you find dogs like this? I am curious. lol

This part with Lycoris is so very different in the novel. Like, almost nonexistent in the novel. Feels so contrived too. Thanks for the chapter!

To those who read the LN:

Does the story continue after Crim returns to the real world as a female vampire? It would be interesting to read how Crim would handle this new normal put upon him in the real world.
So yes after 3 months Crim does become the same Crim we see in game irl, also yes she is actually a vampire with sun sensitivity and blood hunger.... funny side note the first month of high school Crim participated though technology and everybody in high school thinks Crim is a dainty sick girl much to Crim's chagrin.

Roper's got a point, I wouldn't wanna play with somebody like that either tbh. I'd make like one or two attempts to be friendly and move on.

I kinda feel bad for Crim here, s/he's trying so hard to be nice and Lycoris is just being a shit.
when i first read what Roper said i mentally screamed out "THANK YOU!" because he literally said EXACTLY what i've been thinking the entire time.

What chapter does it happen in? And is the translated version on novelupdates the web novel or light novel?
