Like visually showing she is seen as "off" by others.

(instead of just having one of the main characters be a robot for fun/to have the cast be full of different designs)

this is full speculation, I assume it has something to do with trauma as when she drank blood in game some memories popped up that were possibly suppressed. Some sort of traumatic event caused her to fully forget and change or not want to be one. (again speculation). The reason why she was put into that machine was to simulate everything so she could awaken and possibly remember. That is just my theory on the matter. A shame that even the raws are going a bit slow. T-T
