Based on the clues given Crim is actually a girl with vampire genetics.

I figure it when down something thike this:
Back when the vampire urges appeared she lost control and bit her friend bad enough to require treatment, causing enough trauma to cause an alternative personality to take over, thus she thought she was an ordinary human male.

Blood triggers the memory thus an aversion developed and she couldn't eat meat. We see the the mother has fangs, so she probably hasn't been around for the same reason.

The father seems to have made the game as a form of therapy, thus the medical pod, three month stay in game, and remark of her needing this after she entered full dive. The long stay will get her use to being a girl again and being a vampire.
