Well this is more due to her being forced into by her mom. If she outright said "no" they dude could have complained and that could put both her and her mom in shame. Seeing that the dude himself was extremely pushy and I am guessing she knew his character. Either way, this plot was used to progress Takagi and Satou's romance.

i hate this chapter so much and i've always hated it really,a bet on the line, forcing her to marry against her will (coercion from her mom like she didn't choose the guy or anything) like jesus christ, i'm glad it has a good ending but it still reeks especially since no one actually goes "wait a second this shit is fucking messed up"
