Okay I know this is a fictional manga and everything but how have none of these literal children not felt at least SOME emotion after seeing a literal dead body? Conan's an actual detective who's seen tons of dead bodies before, but the others are just random elementary school kids. It seems kinda wild that they'd take a slight against them lying harder than seeing a murder victim.

Not understanding your point. When the children saw the original dead body slumped over in the bath tub they were frightened, hence why they ran away... nothing in this chapter caused for the children to be scared especially when the police came and checked the house with them finding no dead body. So if you saw a dead body then came back to the same spot shortly after (not even half an hour went by during that span) and it was gone as if it never happened I'm sure you would go from panicking (if you never dealt with seeing such a thing) to being suspicious or atleast any normal person would. So emotion was there because they came back to the scene of the crime feeling slighted by Inspector Megure not believing them and wondering what happened for the body to dissappear mysteriously. Not to mention the attention span of a elementary student is not attentive as a high schooler so of course their would be differences in their behavior.

Yeah some of the culprits get insanely lucky when executing a murder trick. Any serious examination of the brother 'sleeping' and the culprit would've been done in.
