Eh I agree with everyone betraying Cron was a stupid decision, especially when it seemed like Cron saw himself in the kid a bit, he was a bit prone to anger but he's led the group for a long time and obviously never took anything too far (towards actual members of the group, obviously not potential wolf recruits as seen by the extreme hazing) or they would have removed him sooner, seems like taking out Cron removes his biggest military force for his revenge.

There's actually some reason to get rid of CRON.
He's too unstable and unpredictable which is a BIG THREAT when you do stuff by planning carefully. Also, CRON did some messed up things to the MC and it caused MC to hate him.
