Heya,
I recently came across Flower by Wada Naoko. It's quite old and I've just been skimming it, but I'd love to read more comics where the protagonist (or even a side character, the bare minimum at least) uses a wheelchair or mobility aid. I've already read Hoshizora wo Mitsumeta Sono Ato de by Kida Bisco, it's not perfect but it was nice, and I was wondering if any of you knew anymore!
I'd also be super down for any other comics depicting any other type of disability. I would appreciate it if the plots weren't focused on 'fixing' anyone.

Would recommend #muted by Kandismon, it's cute, one of the protagonists goes through trauma-based mutism.

Thanks!

Mobility disabilities are hard to come by, now that I think about it. https://mangadex.org/title/c8c7de84-4ad7-4712-9800-549314c8e6c6/josee-the-tiger-and-the-fish is the only one that comes to mind, but I have tickles in my head that I've read some others.

Blindness and muteness seem to be quite common, perhaps because the characters "look" normal (and depending on the genre, easier to get around their disability). I've read a handful so I'm certain there will be plenty more beyond my list.

The broader list should of course start with https://mangadex.org/title/4bde51e5-e420-45a4-98e9-7405bf2d59ff/koe-no-katachi

Also:
https://mangadex.org/title/11bfa371-f53f-42b7-8213-94b1323b02b6/yubisaki-to-renren has a deaf protag
https://mangadex.org/title/baaf8740-6482-4c4e-961f-e90f7f6fad8a/smash has a mute FMC (but it's kind of a fix-her situation since it's psychological)
https://mangadex.org/title/478feb7a-efa3-4912-8faf-18d287f33cab/yankee-kun-to-hakujou-gaaru has a partially-blind FMC

Scifi/Fantasy-ish stuff:
https://mangadex.org/title/a15dc49f-2512-46f2-bc1e-201be8234ee5/telomere has a protagonist(?) that seems to be mute. At the very least she's only shown using sign thus far.
https://mangadex.org/title/4956ef23...se-no-kioku-to-mahou-wo-tayori-ni-ikinobimasu starts off with the MC as a blind girl with a Daredevil-like mana sight
Technically the MC in https://mangadex.org/title/cbf53f02-9594-42e7-9dbf-8ae1c783466f/arcane-sniper is disabled IRL, but it's gimmicky.
Naturally, any list of disabled protagonists would be heretically incomplete without mentioning Zatoichi :chad:

Perfect World is actually amazing and tackles various aspects of beeing wheelchair-bound. Can't comment on how good the scanlation is here, but the official licensed release is very good.

Check out Witch Hat Atelier a fantastical story about a coming-of-age for little witches which also prominently features disabled characters such as
