Do you believe in tarot? I used fortune-telling cards and it seems there's a certain exact coincidence. Not 100%, but there are some small things. I believe in it because quantum physics has that thing where if you observe something and don't observe the course of things, it changes. Use tarot or a gypsy deck. Ask a personal question to Gemini and then tell Gemini to pick some cards and do an analysis. I also believe in numerology and zodiac signs. I believe in something supernatural beyond our understanding. There are people with psychic powers. There are people who dream about things that will happen in real life.

It would be fun if users posted in the "lounge" section more recently, to talk about something off-topic, shitposting. But they're posting in threads specifically about that. The casual discussion thread seems more like a chat than a forum with threads. Even the part where users post on their own profiles seems more active than in the lounge. The same casual discussion thread with several users posting—I wish the lounge was like that, but with threads.

Yes, twin! I believe in all that, too! In fact, I don't post anything without first consulting tarot cards, numerology, and the zodiac.

tarot cards and numerology contain esoteric knowledge that corrupts the soul. only those with steadfast minds and hearts tempered by holiness can study these subjects without succumbing to their darker impulses. do you know what we used to do to the common folk who practiced these dark arts? we'd burn them at the stake in the middle of town for all to see. such misanthropic witchcraft has no place in an orderly, virtuous society.

Well, nobody is stopping you from creating threads.

You can shitpost whatever you want. It's just that if everyone acted this way, there would be a lot of nonsense threads, and it would be difficult to track them all.

I'm not sure what your problem is with profile posts or casual chat. You can also post nonsense there.

If you look far enough, you'll see many threads in lounge for this kind of content. It's just that everyone goes to the Casual Chatting thread.

Not really. I mean I don't think they have anything magic about them and I wouldn't use them to make decisions. Anything that lines up is probably a coincidence, our brains finding patterns or maybe there is some hidden force in this world that we just don't know ¯\(ツ)/¯
But there is just something about them y'know?
I do like using them as memes and for making references to Lord of Mysteries.

Klein at an Evernight cathedral to report something.
Ok now I will change the topic to Lord of Mysteries.
In Lord of Mysteries, luck and fate are real things which can be seen and manipulated by some people. There is in fact an entire pathway dedicated to luck, fate, etc.
The Monster pathway, also known as the Fate or Wheel of Fortune pathway.
latest

Beyonders of this pathway are known for their high spirituality, quick thinking, ability to sense danger, foresee the future and are experts in divination. They become lucky but also attract calamities. They can control the luck and misfortune of others and their own to a certain extent but everything has a cost.

At high sequences, they can bestow misfortunes, find the best possibilities within chaos, manipulate the fate of living beings, trap others in an endless loop of fated events, and avoid danger by restarting an encounter or through reincarnation, and manipulate probability, becoming the embodiment of the endless outcomes of Fate. Their authority represents the Possibility of one's Fate and Chaos.

There are other pathways that can also manipulate luck and fate and everyone with sufficient spirituality can do divination and rituals but this one is special among the 22 pathways for certain reasons.

I have a copy of the I Ching that I use occasionally, not as a means of divining the future or getting 'answers to questions' in a conventional sense, but in an attempt to encourage myself to reconsider a decision from a different viewpoint, or to use a different evaluation of the information influencing the decision. This strikes me as the more beneficial use of these types of stochastic processes - not as decision makers, but as an inducement to broaden one's thinking about and approach to decisions rather than being 'locked in' to a single process.

No, but funny story.

Back in middle school, there was this girl who brought a Rider-Waite tarot deck to school. She and her friends took turns telling each other's fortunes using the manual as a guide. I was randomly invited to have my fortune told, the results of which I don't really remember, but either way, it became my turn to tell their fortune.

So I pulled up my hoodie, and used what little voice acting skills I had back then to mimic your average fortune teller.

Needless to say, they were giggling out of their minds.

The girl who brought the deck would've had a confident spouse, one of her friends would've had a life full of struggle and triumph, and the rest I can't remember.

After it was over, a friend of hers jokingly said I had potential as an actual fortune teller, to which I said, "I prefer jobs that actually pay me."

Wonder where they are now.

I have something similar to tarot, can you imagine what it is? Yes, that's right, something used in some APs such as Carrion Crown and Curse of the Crimson Throne. Either as a DM or player, I loved carrying them around in case there was any divination involved or as the mechanic of a couple of spells.

I knew you'd show up here. I almost mentioned you, but I resisted the urge 🤣
