Feels like I read Jigokuren a million years ago, I am thankful for the translation and that this Mangaka got another serialization....but he never got more than 21 chapters on a series he worked on.

More than anything I can ask in regard to the Manga plot I wonder......Will he get axed again?

Why is it almost every matriarchal world in these comics is a hell scape? I'm not expecting paradise, but just something akin to the level of equality we have now would be nice - like with 'moral reversal'.
I think I've seen far more 'all men are slaves or sex objects' narratives than the reverse... in fact, I'm not sure I've seen a single example of the reverse.

Not to mention there's something unbelievable about just how cruel the women are in these works. Even the most sexist men still want women to be treated well, but just want them to exist in a very specific (and constrictive) context.
Meanwhile women in work such as these are just frothing at the mouth to abuse and enslave the men.

Instant conflict, instant antagonists, instantly likeable protagonist that you want to see kick ass. It's the same deal as with stories from villain's perspective where the good guys are portrayed as idiotic, corrupted and actually evil. And I think readers, regardless of gender, simply enjoy the theme and don't mind the cheap set up.
Designing a regular genderswapped world that would look believable but sufficiently weird sounds like hard work and doesn't have the same bite.

Because it’s easy. Like, you could write a series about a reversed-gender-norms society that actually looks into the gender norms we take for granted and look into them, how they operate, and how they’d work with the shoe on the other foot.

But that would require research and hard work to write. As well as acknowledgement that in our world, we are unbalanced in terms of rights between genders. For fuck’s sake, the United States Supreme Court overturned women’s bodily rights. During the Olympics, toned women (often of color) were accused of being trans because they didn’t look “feminine” enough. The whole movement that got Trump elected started from a guy accusing a woman of getting good reviews for a video game by sleeping with journalists, and even though he had no proof at all everyone believed him. But again, to acknowledge all of these failings of our society, as well as the fact that we are participating in it, would require self-reflection. And you can’t introspect in manga, that’s what you do to escape reality!

So instead you get series about reverse worlds where the main character - a man, obviously - is seen as the underdog by women. He’s just a source of sperm, not even human! But of course, by the power of being the main character, he suddenly goes from a Level 1 Slave to a Level 99 Boss by… having sex!?

Anyway, my point is that it’s easy to take that concept and make it into porn. Also helps to enable the memelords so they can go “heh. It looks like those feminazis couldn’t beat the cock after all”
