The description for the manga calls Tamagotake a mushroom fairy, pretty sure it's just the general term for what these people are.

Yeah not to sound overdramatic but I legit gasped when I got to that panel. The fact that he matches his friend Tsunoshimeji being impaled on those nails was an extra emotional gut punch. Fingers crossed he's ok through some miracle but there's no way you can really bounce back from that : (

Add the fact after inhaling mc Spore in which we can see his memory when they still human, he died getting killed by someone via drowning him in the bath tub (my guess) 😭

That's probably why he get's so gloomy in the rain too. Even if he doesn't remember it, his uneasy feelings about water still remain (besides it suppressing his fire abilities)

If that's true then the souls would have to be drawn in from all over. The forest they're in is a famous suicide spot; fairies based just on the people who die there would probably be like 70-80% suicide 20-30% hiking accidents.

Yeah I've been wondering about that too. Like if someone died from something like slipping and falling on accident would they become a mushroom fairy too?

im thinking they drawn from all over cause we already seen from that spore attack that their are suicides and murdered victims amongst them. Not only that but as someone previously said it looked like the fire mushroom was being drowned in a bath tub. You can sort of see a ceiling over ahead but time will tell anyway.
