last chapter they mentioned he had been exonerated and that emi's kid's time of death didn't match for it to be him. so seems he's just living normally (as he can)

The Gu ritual has always been known to only cause suffering, not just for those who are cursed by it but especially by the ones who use it. A hell of their own making, as it were. A fitting ending for the story and one that is quite stark in nature as well. Thank you for the translations, it was quite a wonderful read.
