There's 3 of them that live by themselves outside of town in the mountains in an abandoned single-building monastery, and he's just a regular unremarkable worker at a local clinic. Now with no one else having gone out there, there are suddenly two new buildings just as large as the first. If that kind of powerful magic is not being performed by the church, then its obviously being performed by a demon...As would be claimed by the church.
