The bullshitting skills are superior to my own. The ability to come up with vague lofty goals and pretend to be pure is a skill in itself. If that were an explicit skill attributed to the MC, as a means to an end, then I'd take more pleasure in the reading.
The MC unknowingly saved his own ass, by his 'cowardice', he prevented the wrath of two superior species utterly despising his weakness. The only leverage he has is the restoration skill, and no combat ability. Those two slaves can free themselves, as revealed, so would not submit to a lecherous wretch that can't provide for himself or them. His pretend 'sagaciousness' is keeping them from testing his power directly and revealing it, out of their own fear of consequences.
The disgusting part is it is not even intentional or knowing, but all cowardice/wretchedness by the MC. It is almost all 'luck', and unluck from the leverage of the collars having no substance (in the world MC is from, slave collars generally mean no disobeying or removal by the slave themselves) that he is not abandoned already and lost his slaves.
Part of this is all things like the MC being dumb and not asking these questions about the slave collars, not learning his own power. Not trying to actually learn reading.
This MC will never be serious, and so will be fumbling and bullshitting for as long as the manga continues. The MC will not get laid until "the end".
In fact, the high elf might as well be the MC, for having more structured thinking than the MC. The manga is living up to its name, and I can't watch while feeling any sympathy for the MC. The only way to enjoy this is by treating the MC as a spectacle and identifying more with those around him. Yet the MC will be everywhere, and the story enters into his perspective. Not only does this demand you laugh at the MC from the outside perspective of others, but also from inside the MC's own thoughts and actions. This is jarring. Unless you're dumb enough to identify with the MC.
The only substance is excusing yourself from identifying with any character and just watching it as an outside spectacle, because you harbor antagonism toward the MC as characterized in some way. I can't laugh at something dumb when I expect no different.
