As for why should we care - it's still like pieces being taken out of play in the scope of the larger plot. Considering how the elements necessary to revive people are kinda scattered at this moment.
And ultimately the manga has still established that dying = your devil tumor being destroyed. That card can still be pulled at any time. Matsumura is still dead for Instance.
