-8 and "freezing lungs" do not compute. It's actually feels good. Though it being close to sea, not to mention with even a little north wind, -8 will feel like much lower temperature. Not enough to freeze your lungs, but still. Besides, he seems to be dressed properly, even too much, really, so I don't even know how can you freeze anything 5 minutes out of taxi. He should be fine up to -20 at least, even in such climate.

Also, "x degrees under 0" is such a cumbersome thing to say. I know that the Finnish language is highly lacking in emotional vocabulary, but at the very least we got our winter words covered... With the aforementioned degrees as "degrees of pakkanen" and a whole lot of different words for different types of snow...

Where I live it's like 30 Celcius on average. You can literally sit down, not do anything and still sweat. If you don't have air conditioning I just really feel bad for you.
